Caisse Community Centre 2020 Summer Camp for Kids ages 5-12 COVID-19 Policies and Procedures:

The Caisse Community Centre will be following the information provided by the Province of Manitoba relating to Child Care Services during COVID-19: https://www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/infomanitobans/childcare.html

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the structure of the Caisse Community Centre 2020 Summer Camp for Kids ages 5-12 this summer will be modified to meet guidelines and regulations in place for Day Camp Programs by the Province of Manitoba.

Please know that any changes made will be done to help promote the safety and security for the children attending the program as well as Camp Staff.

New for 2020:

No Special Activities or Guest/Visitor Access:
• There will be no visitors or volunteers at the camp program at this time
• Special events and guests, such as the nerf gun battles, bouncer day, laser tag, princess visit, etc. will be suspended
• Parents or guardians are able to enter the facility but must practice social distancing and hygiene practices – including hand washing – when on the premises

Change regarding flexible Registration Options:
• We will not be able to offer the flexibility of the single day, 2-day, 3-day and 4-day registration options we have done in the past
• Ensuring the same group of children are registered and attending camp each week is extremely important due to strict guidelines in place for screening and tracking participants
 
Please be aware of the following information regarding the 2020 Caisse Community Centre Camp for Kids ages 5-12:

Before Camp & Drop-Off:
• Parents are asked to self-screen their children prior to bringing them to camp using the COVID-19 Screening Tool: https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/
• If a child exhibits any symptoms consistent with cold or flu, the child should remain at home
• Staff must also use the self-screening tool before coming into work
• Staff will complete screening each day at drop off using the Novel Coronavirus Screening Tool for Public Health and Health Links: https://manitoba.ca/asset_library/en/coronavirus/screening_tool.pdf
• No children with symptoms will be allowed to attend
• Any child, parent, staff or visitor must not enter the child care space if they are sick, even if symptoms resemble a mild cold
• There will be staggered entry at drop-off to help avoid unnecessary contact

During Camp:
• Social Distancing:
o Staff will practice social distancing to the extent possible, while still caring for the children
o Children with no symptoms will continue to be treated as they typically would under our care
o The areas Camp is held will be set-up to encourage social distancing
• Handwashing:
o Children and Staff will engage in frequent handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds when arriving at Camp as well as before and after all activities during the course of the day
• Cleaning and Disinfecting:
o Staff will perform frequent thorough cleaning every day, using routine practices that follow regulations for cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting
o Frequently touched objects and surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected numerous times throughout the day

• Lunch & Snacks:
o Parents must provide a peanut-free Lunch and two Snacks for their child
o A "No Sharing" Policy will be in place
• Zero-Tolerance Policy:
o If a child registered in the Summer Camp Program is unable to follow the COVID-19 rules and guidelines provided by the Province of Manitoba, parent will be contacted and the child will be removed from the program.

Pick-Up:
• There will be staggered entry at pick-up to help avoid unnecessary contact

The Caisse Community Centre Summer Camp for Kids ages 5 to 12 Program is a special type of setting where kids come together to have fun while learning.

Our Summer Camp Program offers a structured opportunity for children to grow. Summer Camp focuses on both mental stimulation and physical activity. Kids go from home to school to extracurriculars, with each environment contributing to their development. Summer Camp is another unique venue for growth, allowing kids to become independent and self-confident, while socializing and making new friends and even learning new skills.

Children with all different / unique types of personalities thrive in a camp setting. Camp staff are sensitive to each child's unique personality and will assist your child to transition into the Summer Camp environment for a positive experience.

• Camp runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (excluding statutory holidays) - hours subject to change.
• Full week registration required - no single, 2,3 or 4 day registration options available.
• Space is limited. Online pre-registration is required.
• Kids bring their own lunches / snacks (nut-free).  Microwaves and fridges available.

 The Caisse Community Centre Summer Camp for Kids (ages 5 to 12) Program promises to be fun and entertaining all August long!

As our response to COVID-19 evolves, we will continue to assess the operation of the Caisse Community Centre 2020 Summer Camp for Kids ages 5-12 Program (August 4 - August 28).
